2024/2025 Decathlon: Event Summary: Hockey

Status: Completed

RULES: HOCKEY

New NHL playoff structure in 2014 means a new Decathlon structure! A total of 16 teams make the playoffs; 8 from each conference with division leaders seeded 1 thru 3 and two wildcard spots.

The teams are seeded as follows:
E-1 Boston, Pittsbugh
E-2 Tampa Bay, NYR
E-3 Montreal, Philadelphia
E-WC Detroit, Columbus

W-1 Colorado, Anaheim
W-2 StLouis, SanJose
W-3 Chicago, LosAngeles
W-WC Minnesota, Dallas

Q1: Pick one team from each seeding category (1s, 2s, 3s) and two wildcards. Picks can be from any division and either conference. Please note that the NHL no longer reseeds between rounds.

Each team you select will earn:
20 pts for every playoff win
-2 pts for every playoff loss
40 bonus pts for making it to the Finals
35 bonus pts for winning the Stanley Cup

Q2: Select one team as the Stanley Cup Champion (correct choice worth 75 pts). Note: Your choice for Q2 MAY BE, but DOES NOT HAVE TO BE one of the 5 teams you picked in Q1.
