Soccer will be comprised of 2 events, the 2012 UEFA tournament and the Olympic men's soccer tournament.
Q1: UEFA 2012
16 teams are divided into 4 pools. The top 2 teams of each group will advance. Pool play, rules for advancing and knockout play are all described here:

We have seeded the 16 teams based on betting odds. Your UEFian task is to pick 5 teams which total no more than 8 seed points.
Your picks will earn points as follows:
25 pts for each Win (pool or knockout round)
15 pts for each Draw (pool only)
25 pts for advancing to knockout round
50 pts for a title game berth
100 pts for the UEFA 2012 title
Picks will lock at the kickoff of the first game (6/8)
